Return to Bugularity
Upon completing the original Bugularity (Jam Edition), I wanted to revisit the idea and create a more complete and more functional proof of concept. Thus, Bugularity DX was born.
The premise of the original Bugularity was to create a shared keyboard two-player game in which a little Ant and a big Beetle must collaborate to make their way home through an assortment of levels and stages.
Featuring a few levels introducing the primary mechanics of the game alongside a slew of quality of life features to add polish and completeness to the game, namely:
- 2D Lighting
- Controls Settings
- Sound Effects
- Fleshed out Title Screen
Enjoy playing the new and improved version of Bugularity
More content to come.
Changelog:
04-16-2024
Bug Fixes:
- Load node where beetle and ant have to fall into the next section (third level) no longer breaks when ant falls onto beetle
- Fixed tilemap in some levels where corners looked off
Additional Changes:
- Balanced final stage of third level to be easier to glide through
- Rocks that need two dashes to break are more visually communicative
- Dash time meter now removed as it presented information not useful to the player
- Fixed access to secret area ;)
A Mac OS build was added as well, however I do not have an Apple developer ID so this is build is not notarized, is signed ad hoc, and will probably be flagged by your system if you are a Mac user. Do with that what you will.
