Made for the GMTK 2025 game jam off the theme Loop

Deep in the Mesopelagic Zone or the Twilight Zone of the ocean, you are a little lanternfish hunted by spine tingling inhabitants such as the black dragonfish, as well as deep sea fishermen from hundreds of meters above. You must use your wits to survive an onslaught of fishing hooks and deep sea predators by snapping the line.

DISCLAIMERS:

The last level is intentionally a major difficulty jump and designed to be an intense challenge to come back to after playing through the previous levels and arcade mode. We recommend you try out the other 8 levels and the arcade mode first.</span>

HOW TO PLAY

You will control a fish that is hooked onto some fishing line, you must make use of your surroundings to stretch the fishing line that you've been hooked onto to its breaking point. This game contains 9 levels exploring different game mechanics and obstacles.

Alternatively play an arcade mode where the more debris and objects you loop with the fishing line, the more points you gain, all while surviving an endlessly spawning assortment of deep sea creatures.

Default controls are A and D to turn the player character counterclockwise and clockwise respectively.

SPACE is to dash at the expense of stamina

R is to reset the level

ESCAPE is used to open the pause screen in game

Player controls and level resetting can be rebound in gameplay settings.
